History

The Wheeler Lofts is housed in the former Wheeler-Schebler Carburator Factory from 1911-1951. In 2001 Southeast Neighboorhood Development Corportation renovated the building into lofts with artists in mind offering performance gallery spaces. In 2004 Wheeler Lofts formerly known as Wheeler Arts was added to the list of National Historic Places.
